Client: Network Rail
Location: Stockley in Hillingdon
Network Rail has engaged with Carillion to construct a £50m flyover, in the form of a single-track viaduct, as part of the £2.3bn London Crossrail project at Stockley in Hillingdon, to enable Crossrail services to operate to Heathrow.
Jacobs Engineering undertook the design of the Stockley viaduct at the Heathrow Airport Junction, which will allow Crossrail trains to join the branch to Heathrow to allow increased capacity and reliability on the busy Great Western Mainline.
Active conducted demolition and enabling works for the new construction of the viaduct as well as removing asbestos roof sheeting to the factory units including Ford Servicing, Ford Retailing, All Point Packaging, HG Timbers, Heathrow Motors and KGM Transport. The viaduct will start on the western side of the existing airport lines, and cross over all tracks in the railway corridor turning eastwards to continue on the northern side of the existing railway tracks. The viaduct will then widen and allow the junction for Crossrail and Heathrow Express services to be installed on the track.
